forms. The application forms are located
at the bottom of this page.
Application Instructions
- Our
hiring process consists of:
-
Application: fill out and turn in at
our office. (starting early January
through end of May. Earlier applicants
receive preference.)
- Information Session: sign up for.
These are 30 minutes; wear casual dress.
This is a generalized session for a
group of applicants where the basics of
the positions are given--what Youth
Programs is, what your duties are, and
our requirements of employees. We
will also start the first phase of our
interview process with a short group
activity (no advance preparation
needed). You must
attend an Information Session to be
considered for a position. After
completing the Info Session:
- We will contact you if you are
selected for an Interview. Interviews
are 20 minutes, and casual dress.
- There
are two applications. Fill out both and
sign the back of both. Fill in
all the
reference information since we need to
do at least one phone reference, in
addition to the written reference.
- For
counselor positions, Informational
Sessions will be held, Monday,
February 11th and Wednesday Feb. 13,
2008. You MUST attend an Information
Session to be considered for an
Interview. If you cannot attend one of these
sessions, please contact Debbie Maki at
487-2219. After you have attended
an Information Session, we will contact
you if you are selected for an
Interview. Initial placements and
alternates will be made in early April,
and you will be informed by letter if
you have been hired by mid April.
- We are
accepting applications for TA's,
week-end drivers, and lifeguards but are
not interviewing for these positions at
this time. If you are selected for an
Interview, we will call you later about
these positions. If you wish to be a TA,
circle the courses you can teach on the
back of the TA Information Form and turn
it in to us. We keep a list for the
Instructors to draw from. The Instructor
will contact you in May, June, or July.
- The
Personal Reference form should be given
to someone who knows you in a
professional capacity (someone you
worked for, a boss, supervisor,
professor, etc.), can speak of your
character (minister, teacher, scout
leader, community service co-worker,
etc.), or knows how you interact with
children. Do NOT use a friend, fellow
student, or relative.
The reference form should be sent
directly to the Youth Programs office by
the person filling out the form. This
form can also be mailed or faxed to your
reference. International students have
faxed these back home, or even sent them
by e-mail.
Application Forms
All three of the following forms must be
printed off and submitted to be
considered for employment.
