Live-In
This is $650 per week. This Live-In student rate includes residence hall room and board (Sunday lunch through Saturday breakfast), instructional costs, books, supplies, recreational activities in the residence hall, and residence hall supervision. (To help you solicit scholarships from local charitable organizations, a 12-minute video is available upon request.)

Commuter 
This is $395 per week. The commuter student rate includes instructional costs, books, supplies, noon meals on Monday through Friday, and recreational activities at the residence hall.

You will explore careers, participate in activities that may not be included in your studies at school, and experience a mini-version of college life. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to Michigan Tech. Scholarships are often available through PTA's, community service groups, and local businesses.

Notes: 

• The following explorations, which involve extensive travel and camping throughout the surrounding area, are limited to live-in students only: Aquatic Ecology - Field Study at Gratiot Lake, Wilderness Backpacking on Isle Royale, and Wolf/Moose Backpack on Isle Royale.

• Commuting students must reside with adults (parents, relatives, or family friends) in the vicinity while participating in SYP. Any alternative arrangements must be documented in writing and discussed with the Youth Programs coordinator prior to the program.

• You may be eligible for a $50.00 SYP tuition reduction if your parents/guardian/grandparents graduated from MTU, or is a current MTU employee!  See the SYP Payment Form.
