SYP offers two enrollment plans: Live-In or Commuter

Enrollment in the SYP is first-come, first-served.
Enrollment in our Career Explorations is tuition-based and accepted until the exploration is filled. Many explorations fill quickly, so we encourage you to send in your application early. SYP applications will be accepted until the Sunday before the program begins, if openings exist. Most explorations are limited to twenty or fewer students.

To apply, please follow the instructions below. Your non-refundable deposit of $125 is due within 10 days of receipt of your application.

1. Obtain & Complete a SYP Application (6 Pages)

• Fill out the 3rd & 4th pages.
   
• Ignore the Competitive Scholarship Program
  (pages 5 & 6)

2. Complete the Payment Form (Page 2)

• Credit Card information will be taken by mail, phone, or fax. Checks will be taken by mail and please make payable to SYP-Michigan Technological University.
   
• The outstanding balance must be paid in full by May 15, 2008.

3. Send the completed SYP application, payment form, and a $125 non-refundable deposit for each exploration to:

Once you apply, and are accepted, our office will process your application and send you a confirmation through email or the postal service. Please allow two to three weeks to receive an enrollment confirmation A few weeks later you will receive a personalized Welcome Packet which will have all of the information you need, including directions, a detailed packing list, specifics about your exploration, and more.

4. Pay Balance by May 15, 2008.

• Canceling enrollment - The $125 deposit is non-refundable, if you cancel before May 15, 2008 you are eligible to receive the remaining balance. If you cancel your enrollment after May 15, 2008 or do not appear for your confirmed exploration, you will forfeit the entire amount paid.
   
• Waiting list - If you have been placed on a waiting list, you may choose another open exploration and/or remain on the waiting list. If you haven't been transferred from the waiting list by the start of the program, your entire deposit will be refunded.
   
• Cancelled explorations - If the exploration you have chosen is cancelled by the Youth Programs office (an unlikely event), we will assist you in selecting another exploration or refund your entire deposit.
